Stuck in the Memphis Airport
Monday, May 4th, 2009As I write this, I’m spending five hours in the Memphis airport because airlines these days don’t seem to ever do maintenance checks before the day starts, they just find the problems on the first flight out. Anyway, I’m stuck in the Memphis airport and wanted to show a couple cool things I saw here. First, there’s a store called “Elvis” where you can buy all kinds of official Elvis merchandise. But the store’s window display is misleading, because it contains this jumpsuit, but they don’t have an XL Tall in the store, which is BS!
Also, above the Sun Cafe in the B concourse, they have several EXPENSIVE guitars that are just sitting there as decoration. Here’s an example, forgive the terrible quality, but this is a Gibson Chet Atkins Counrty Gentleman in Orange that I just found on Ebay for $3000. And it’s just decoration above the restaurant entrance!
And that’s just one of several guitars that are over $2000. If I yanked that Country Gentleman down, how far do you think I can make it before getting tazed?
